NGC 3077 Galaxy / M81 Bode’s Galaxy - telescope processed image. M81 (Bode’s Galaxy): This grand design spiral is surprisingly bright because its supermassive black hole is actively gobbling up nearby gas and dust.

M81 Bode's Galaxy / NGC 3077 Galaxy - telescope processed image. M81 is a "grand design" spiral roughly 12 million light-years away. Its massive central black hole is about 70 million times the mass of our Sun.

M81 Bode's Galaxy / NGC 3077 Galaxy - unprocessed image. NGC 3077 is a member of the M81 Group. Interactions with M81 and M82 have triggered bursts of star formation and created complex, wispy dust filaments.

Bode's Galaxy and Friends An astrophotograph by Stefan Kellner on AstroBin

Bode's Galaxy #M81, the Cigar Galaxy #M82 and the Garland Galaxy #NGC3077, taken from Berlin. They are 12 million light years away while the western world is only a couple of years away from giving up democracy. Don't let this happen. 🔭

2) MAGNIFIED REGION showing the three main galaxies in the field. M81 shows its faint spiral arms in only 2 minutes exposure. The more distant #NGC3077 appears in the lower right corner

#M81 AND #M82 GALAXIES FIELD, at about 11 and 12 million light-years in #UrsaMajor. A 2 min. exposure with the same instrument on Sony A 6000. Already shows M82 spiral arms and the colours of the M82 Cigar irregular galaxy. Last fields show the small companion #NGC3077 as well

A threefer! #M81, #M82, and #NGC3077 all in one shot. I ran across this raw data while looking for something else and realized I'd never processed it. I'm pretty sure it was just some test snaps with a new imaging train, but it's from September and I can barely remember yesterday! #Astrophotography
