💥 Supernova SN2025rbs in NGC 7331 💥
Celestron Origin spotted NGC 7331 from light-polluted LA County. 🤯 Origin's blazing-fast RASA 6 optics cut through the glow and delivered the goods.

NGC 7331 The Deer Lick Group - telescope processed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter. NGC 7331 is a beautiful, inclined, unbarred spiral galaxy in Pegasus, often nicknamed the "Milky Way's Twin" due to its similar size and structure.
NGC 7331 The Deer Lick Group - unprocessed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter. The area features the Deer Lick Group (or NGC 7331 Group) of galaxies, including the four tiny background "fleas" seen near the brilliant spiral.

NGC 7331 The Deer Lick Group - telescope processed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter. NGC 7331 is a large, Milky Way-like spiral galaxy that dominates this visual group in Pegasus. The smaller, fainter companion galaxies ("the Fleas") are actually much farther background objects.
NGC 7331 The Deer Lick Group - unprocessed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter. The "fleas" (NGC 7335, 7336, 7337, 7340) are not gravitationally bound to the main galaxy! They are actually up to 10 times farther away and only appear close due to a chance alignment.
Good Sunday morning. Continuing with the observations from last night. Decided to go see #NGC7331 #TheDeerLickGroup again. Decided that tonight will spend more time here as there is more that the 5 galaxies that you can see in the center. #seestar #S50 #space #astronomy #amateur

An edge-on galaxy. It seems to have two cores. The upper one is an exploding star.
Meanwhile, supernova SN 2025rbs is still flaring away in NGC 7331. #astrophotography #seestar #sn2025rbs #ngc7331
A bright, star-filled image showing the spiral galaxy NGC 7331, tilted slightly and glowing with soft blue light. Near its dusty lanes and spiral arms, a bright white dot marks the supernova 2025rbs. The foreground is dotted with faint stars from our own Milky Way.
A star exploded 50 million years ago. We just saw it. 💥
Supernova 2025rbs, a Type Ia in galaxy NGC 7331, was detected on July 14 and is now the brightest supernova in Earth's sky. It likely came from a white dwarf’s thermonuclear blast.

man rip to the poor fuckin alien bastards who didn't get out of
#SN2025rbs system, #NGC7331 some 46 million years or so ago
they got blowed up
The death of a star is always worth noting if it's visible. #Supernova #2025rbs exploded very recently in #NGC7331 #Pegasus #Caldwell30 and is now visible in the late UK evening sky if you have a scope - even a #Seestar #dwarf3 #astro #astronomy #EAA

Just been out observing a star that exploded 40 million years ago in my 8 inch telescope. Here is a picture taken by my friend Chris. The supernova is the bright white blob. #NGC7331 #ukastronomy
Last night, took another crack at capturing the supernova #SN2025rbs in #NGC7331. It shines as bright as the galactic core. Other bright stars are the ones in foreground much closer to us and not from that galaxy.
This image is from 90 minutes of data (30x3min).
