Esteban was a Moor from northern Africa. He survived the failed Narváez Expedition of 1527, and ended up shipwrecked in Tejas. He along with three Spaniard crossed much of the Southwest & later was the guide for the Coronado Expedition in 1561. #NMHistory #Estevan
George McJunkin was born a slave in Tejas. After the Civil War he made his way into New Mexico. George was a master at taming horses, a lover of science & learning, and became a foreman of a ranch near Folsom, NM. He found the first Folsom points. Link in comments. #NMHistory
