We do #Noirvember every year, (we did a Robert Ryan season last time), so a film noir full of smutty innuendo is right up #TheFilmCrowd (Dark) Alley. I couldn't help but love it.

Yes. This is definitely influenced by SUNSET BOULEVARD.
We should do that one #Noirvember.

I swear I didn't somehow look ahead at the schedule and yet the exact movies I randomly found for myself to watch last #Noirvember keep showing up on Noir Alley since then! #ShieldForMurder #NoirAlley #TCMParty

Like I said, #Noirvember was great and I’m having fun this month with #Horrormas so I will keep the momentum setting a theme for each month of 2026.

January will be #FaceTheMusic 📽️🎼 highlighting musicals, music documentaries, biopics, films about dance, fictional bands - all music related films!

In #Noirvember I organized an inadvertent Robinson mini-fest when I re-watched a trio of noir classics back to back: DOUBLE INDEMNITY (in which Robinson plays a good guy), KEY LARGO (where he plays a very bad guy), & SCARLETT STREET (is he a tragic guy here? it's complicated...). The man had *range*

Advent Day 10 (12/9): LARCENY, INC. (1942) & WALK SOFTLY, STRANGER (1950). I had high hopes for these but I’m afraid I can’t certify either as bona fide Christmas films. That said, they would certainly be good choices for the #Noirvember to December transition. #AdventWatch #9-10 #Filmsky 📽️

#LastFourWatched for #LetterboxdFriday. Finished #Noirvember with two films from Indicator's excellent Universal Noir box set. Good Boy and Reflection in a Dead Diamond were great too.

If you're not ready to embrace Christmas and leave #Noirvember in the rear view mirror, #CoverUp (1949, Alfred E. Green) is the perfect seasonal bridge 🎄🎅 A cozy small town murder mystery with noir-ish elements, set at Christmas time. I really enjoy watching this film during the Holiday season.
