I was 11, fishing the Kings River with family friends. We'd spread out and I hadn't seen anyone for a couple hours, when I bumped into one of the adults on a sandbar. A fawn was within arm's reach of him. He looked up, causing me to turn, and there was the mother on a ledge, watching.

It’s time for Max Out Monday in Pokémon GO! In honor of National Park Service Founders Day, tonight’s choice is my hundo Nuzleaf named Parker! I bet you can find them at your local forest! 🍃

Going to Sleeping Bear is one of my favorite memories from childhood vacations. Looking up at the sky, then over at the faraway lake, while atop a giant sand dune. <3

A crowded Yosemite shuttle bus seen from the back of the bus. Most drivers were very patient with the crowds.

Thank you NPS! Some jobs are thankless. Some are greatly appreciated! #NPSBirthday #Yosemite

On this day in 1916, the National Park Service was born. By 1941, Saratoga joined Yellowstone & Yosemite in the national system—because battlefields matter too. 👉 tinyurl.com/bde52vn9 #saratoga250 #npsbirthday
Happy birthday to our National Parks 🐊 Getting to experience the Everglades last fall was truly a special experience, & I have hope that continuing the push for conservation of these precious spaces will keep them intact for generations to come! #NPSBirthday
My kids got to see two amazing national parks this summer.
Yosemite and Yellowstone were both full of spectacular beauty.
I’m so grateful to the National Park Service for all that it does to keep these natural spaces available. #NPSBirthday
Today marks 109 years of the National Park Service! Let's make sure it's the best it can be—for all of us, including trans people and those who stand up for our community.

Happy 109th Birthday to our National Parks! Congress and the President must protect and fully fund Minnesota’s National Parks so that we can all celebrate and enjoy these national treasures #NPSBirthday

Celebrating by sharing pictures of my favorite park, Mt Rainier, with views from three different sides: Paradise (Skyline trail), Sunrise (Burroughs Mountain trail, at the 3rd Burroughs), and Tolmie Peak Fire Lookout trail.
