Rail Safety Poster issued by the Association of American Railroads in 1939 from the Museum’s Library & Archive collection. 2010.031.582 Features a steam train zooming forwards a crossing while a blue Volkswagen beetle is zooming towards the same crossing. A ghostly, almost comical depiction of the panicked locomotive engineer floats in the steam above the locomotive, hands raised and looking some degree of horrified and annoyed about the impending collision.
