UPDATE: Rep. Ritchie Torres (@ritchietorres.bsky.social) has now received >$2.66 MILLION from the Israel lobby and their mega donors. #NY15
#CandidatesZoom #DalournyNemorin is telling people loud & clear that #Politics do matter. You need to get involved. "We have to demand our piece of the pie." #NY15 is the poorest in the nation. "Torres is distracted by his own agenda." (As in stepping stone to higher offices) Torres heavily funded!~
Michael Blake is running for #NY15 next year. He supports #MedicareForAll. He says we should never have to decide between meals and healthcare. #NewYork
According to the press release, they expect ~107,000 residents of #NY15 alone to lose healthcare coverage due to the #BigUglyBill, and that's just via Medicaid & the Essential Plan. Several thousand ACA exchange enrollees will also be priced out of coverage.
That's over 15% of the total population.
🚨 #NEWYORK: Holy crap. I had estimated that a whopping 64% of the total population of #NY15 was enrolled in Medicaid.
It turns out I was wrong: It's actually over *70%.*
Gov Hochul joins Rep. Torres to warn of crippling impact of GOP's #BigUglyBill:

Holy mother of gawd. People in Richie Torres' #NY15 (Bronx) should be asking for their money back. This smug asshole lecturing a Jew on anti-semitism is beyond the pale. #uspoli #richietorres #adamfriedland
From January 2021 into October 2023, a tally found that Rep. Ritchie Torres, whose #NY15 district is by far the poorest in the country, mentioned "Israel" twice as much as he mentioned "poverty."
Torres' top career donor, by far, is lobbying group AIPAC, followed by another pro-Israel PAC, NORPAC.
Rep. Ritchie Torres of #NY15 owned stock in defense contractors profiting from the military spending, while he was criticizing calls for a ceasefire in Gaza. Torres just disclosed the assets, nearly a year late.
His spox says the stocks were bought by an independent manager without his knowledge.
Right, she voted for the #murderbill and she's proud of it. If Kathy Hochul doesn't run again to stop Stefanic on the MAGAt side, maybe @repritchie.bsky.social [current Congressman for #NY15 (Bronx)] will run for Governor of New York? 🤔 stefanik.house.gov/2025/5/stefa...
NY-15 ~14,000 ACA exchange enrollees are in danger. ~96,000 BHP enrollees* are in danger. ~157,000 Medicaid expansion enrollees are in danger. *(aka Essential Plan)
I'm also posting #NY15, Ritchie Torres' district, as it's the poorest Congressional district (per capita) in the country.
~14,000 ACA exchange enrollees are in danger.
~96,000 BHP enrollees* are in danger.
~157,000 Medicaid expansion enrollees are in danger.

On a related note: #NY12 & #NY15 are only a few miles apart. Talk about socioeconomic contrast:
I’ve added a special note to #NY15 (Ritchie Torres’ district), the poorest House district in the country, where the number of residents with employer-based coverage appears to be so low it falls below the margin of error of my estimates for the other categories.

in #NY15 that wouldn't even be a blip on the screen
NYC is short-circuiting thanks to Eric Adams, who edged out a win in 2021's primary, with huge backing from super PACs.
Also, Adams was ranked 2nd in ranked-choice by Reps. Hakeem Jeffries, Gregory Meeks, and Ritchie Torres. So, we can thank the reps for #NY08, #NY05, and #NY15 for jamming up NYC.
Ironically, the House district w/the *2nd* highest % of its total population enrolled in ACA coverage is the deep blue #NY15 (Ritchie Torres), where 39% of the population has either ACA exchange plans, ACA BHP coverage or ACA Medicaid Expansion coverage.

#NY15 Jamaal Bowman defeats Torres
#MO01 Cori Bush Defeats Bell
Not many other progressives are set to be the favorites to win.
But this is a decent start. Perhaps more come along.
That may not sound surprising, but guess which House district is right behind #NY15?
GOP Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar's #FL27, where 34.3% of the total population is enrolled in #ACA exchange policies.
That's right: Even w/out Medicaid expansion, over 1/3 of FL-27 residents rely on ACA policies. 👀
The House district with the highest % of its total population covered via the ACA is #NY15 (@ritchietorres.bsky.social), where *36.5%* of residents are enrolled in either ACA exchange plans, BHP plans or Medicaid expansion. 2/
