If NZ Gov't was serious about shaking up Banking in Aotearoa NZ, 1st step should be to end its service deal with Australian bank, Westpac, and move accounts to a #NZBank! That's a lot of money that could be invested with #KiwiBank or Cooperative Bank NZ

It's so stupid that a #NZbank could suggest using a name no one uses for me, and that's less complex than my full name, as an adequate account name to reduce risk. IMHO their "simplification" increases security risks of inappropriate matching.

I have a common last name. My #NZbank has arbitrarily renamed my account with my first name (which I never use) and my last name. No other initials or my middle name that agencies and payers, know me as and use for payments or services. Reducing my information CREATES risk, it doesn't reduce it.

Another name related note for people in Aotearoa NZ: we can have multiple legal names if we choose to honour a marriage we enter into. We can retain a pre-marriage name or bank account, and have a new married name and bank account. Consistency makes sense but ..

don't match consistently. They're not illegal and were accurate when first listed. How does #NZbank decide which to use?Why not ask me?

Does your personal or business bank account match your or its legal name? If not, you may find your #NZbank has changed your account name. Even worse they may have changed it to something else.
