TOKYO to KYOTO Cycling Tour - 'It's like riding through history!'
TOKYO to KYOTO Cycling Tour - 'It's like riding through history!' YouTube video by KOJO Collective

A mostly road video but what roads! #tokyo to #kyoto in #japan. A 800k tour. Breathtaking scenery. #nakasendo I could watch filmage like this all day. I truly believe the way to immerse yourself in culture history & nature is ‘slow riding’ by bike. Meeting people & places at a relatable pace. ❤️🚲

An elderly man smiling for the camera. Persimmon hanging behind him.

While walking the Nakasendō from Ena to Nakatsugawa on Sunday. This man was hanging kaki (persimmon) to dry out.

Exploring the Nakasendo Trail was a beautiful contrast to Tokyo... historic villages, timeless wooden houses and peaceful streets. Loved capturing the tranquil light, unique architecture, and the poetic spirit of rural Japan #Nakasendo #Photography #japan mfthing.squarespace.com/nakasendo-tr...

#Wandern #Reisen

One last photo from Narai and then I’ll stop spamming the timeline. This is the shot everyone gets, only you need a zoom lens to get it properly and my Q2 very much does not have one of those so this is as close as I could get. You get the idea. #nakasendo #中山道

As someone who very much appreciates a good frontage, Narai really does deliver. #nakasendo #中山道

That’s what I just walked over. And very nice it was too. Narai-Juku is the most picturesque of the post towns so I’ll be sure to share some photos from here later on. #nakasendo #中山道

And then the descent down towards Narai-July with the railway line and the river snaking their way through the valley. #nakasendo #中山道

Lots of cobble stone walkways and thick forest wrapped around the contours of the mountain. Another bit which would be much harder if it was raining. The weather has been very kind. #nakasendo #中山道

I soon reached the Ue no Torii which one assumes gave the path its name. This is one of the highest spots on the Nakasendo and I was blowing a bit after almost jogging up this section. #nakasendo #中山道

A much less difficult walk today. Starting off from Yabuhara and ascending up quickly on the Toriinoue pass towards Narai-Juku. That’s Yabuhara down in the valley. #nakasendo #中山道

The last part then falls sharply through the forest along the river and its huge dam before emerging into the village of Nojiri. #nakasendo #中山道
