Drifloon and Drifblim, purple-red-white-and-yellow balloon Pokémon, float happily in the air in the huge hangar that is the National Air & Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center. Behind them is a purple-red-and-white Federal Express jet airplane on display.

In the massive hangar of the National Air & Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center, hang gliders and other small sport aircraft are on display, suspended in the air. Soaring alongside them is Aerodactyl, a grey pterosaur Pokémon, with its wings spread in parallel to the nearest hang glider.

So yeah, yesterday I saw my friend out in Chantilly, Ms. Spacemuseum—or as her friends call her, “Erin.”

The Destination Moon exhibition uses a combination of actual F-1 rocket engines and mirrors to create the visual effect of all five boosters from a Saturn V rocket’s first stage. Three heroes, one capsule, infinite dreams Space and space missions fascinate me. I went to the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. A lot is currently under reconstruction, less than half is on display. I was fascinated by the Apollo mission. The museum has the Apollo 11 Command Module that returned from the first manned lunar landing mission in July 1969, here taken with a fisheye lens.
