It was a honour to mark National Indigenous History Month at multiple June events in the Banff Kananaskis communities of Canmore (pipe ceremony), Mini Thni (pow-wow), and Banff (National Indigenous Peoples Day.) Together, we celebrate the cultures, traditions & the contributions of First Nations, Inuit, & Métis peoples across Turtle Island. The summer solstice holds deep spiritual and cultural significance for many Indigenous Peoples, marking a time of renewal, connection, and celebration. It’s a time to learn, reflect, and celebrate the diverse Indigenous communities that shape our shared story. We must continue to listen, learn, and walk the path of reconciliation not just today, but throughout the year. We are all treaty people; let us honour the past, act in the present, and work together for our shared future. #mla #banffkananaskis #nationalindigenoushistorymonth #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay Photo Credit: Rocky Mountain Outlook
