A ferry carrying cars across the river comes in to dock at the landing.
2 rod and reels and a net are planted firmly on the shoreline. The rods have "chingy" bells on the tips to alert the fisherperson of any fish bites. It's a nice afternoon to snooze on the river banks.

The Lewis river in Southwest Washington state has a number of waterfalls and is well worth the hike. I particularly like it in the fall when the summer crowds have died down a bit.
