Too many amazing #nationalstudentwalkout tweets for me to RT. I hope the support the nation feels starts to apply to a diversity of youth activism. Highlight of my day was several emails from former and current student excited and emotional about the potential of a turning tide.

I'm sure this crossed some of your FB feeds this week in response to the #NationalStudentWalkout. It crossed mine. Several times. And each time I got a little angrier, for a few different reasons.

This morning my son said, struggling under his backpack on his way out the door, "I don't know about doing the #NationalStudentWalkout."

I was surprised. I told him he'd probably want to, but it's up to him.
