Revealed: 5,000 English nature sites at risk under Labourโ€™s planning proposals Exclusive: Planning bill includes mechanism for developers to โ€˜pay to polluteโ€™ valuable ecosystems, experts warn

Teachers of the new #NaturalHistoryGCSE are going to love this. We've lost ~70% of our biodiversity already, soon there will be hardly anything left. Maybe that's why it's called Natural "History" ๐Ÿ™„

A new natural history GCSE is welcome โ€“ but climate change needs to be part of the whole curriculum Mathematical concepts could be introduced through calculating the effect of introducing solar panels on the school roof.

"There is much that could be learnt from the approach taken by Scotland. Its learning for sustainability vision takes a cross-curricular, solutions-focused approach."

GCSE Natural History - Will I ever see a living hedgehog? Dr Meryl Batchelder, explains how a Natural History GCSE will encourage students to explore the world around them, consider human impacts on the world and explain our changing views of the planet.

Given the #NaturalHistoryGCSE has finally been confirmed, hopefully being taught for Y10s by 2026-27, now seems like the perfect time for primary/ Y7 & 8 teachers to start enthusing children to be interested in biodiversity ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿฆ”.

๐Ÿ“ขTonight at Richmond Full Council @rtgreenparty.bsky.social Cllr Chas Warlow is bringing a motion supporting the #naturalhistoryGCSE.

This @uklabour.bsky.social Govt must take concerted action to tackle the #climatecrisis, and providing this GCSE is an essential part of that.
