Nice vid :) The Firefly was involved in British strikes against Japanese targets in I think 1944 and definitely 1945, and had a bit of a career post-war, including during the Korean War.

Great shot Matt, of a great subject! Bumping to the feed :)

At the very least interesting - bumping to the feed :)

An intriguing thought - and bumping to the feed #NavalAviationHistory. What was Skua performance like compared with the Fulmar, as my very uneducated thoughts would be covering for the lower endurance of the Sea Hurricane? No need to answer, just spitballing :)
If you hadn't, then there's a real risk the first embedded BlueSky video I watched wouldn't have been of a Swordfish! Cheers :)

Great to see, I'm very grateful to Dr Fisher for writing that book. Bumping to the feed as well #NavalAviationHistory
Phenomenal work, thanks for sharing :) Good enough to give it the #NavalAviationHistory tag I reckon.
More sensational shots Matt, and some #NavalHistory and #NavalAviationHistory as well :)
A two-poster on the aircraft carrier Bearn when the French signed their armistice in 1940 and Anglo-French relations moe broadly ๐

More excellent shots, love your work Matt :) Great to see the Phantom and Sea Vixen in there (and sympathies for the photobombing traffic cone, but I think the shot still looks great :) ).
#NavalAviationHistory
Stunning colours indeed - thanks for sharing :) #NavalAviationHistory
A fun three-post thread on early French naval aviation (with some fun/quality discussion below).

Wonderful work, thanks for sharing (and great to see some #NavalHistory and #NavalAviationHistory relics in amongst it :) ).
Would have been tough getting volunteers for that gunner position! Not as surprised it was intended to be sub-launched, there was quite a lot of interest in finding ways to extend the vision of subs in the interwar period. #NavalAviationHistory
Brilliant, looking forward to reading, and bumping to the feed #NavalAviationHistory
A tangible relic of #NavalAviationHistory - thanks for sharing :)
A superb 11-skeet thread on the A6M and Ki-43 - I recommend reading all the way through :)
#NavalAviationHistory
Thanks for sharing, great shots :)

Symbol aside (happily not easy to discern) it's a great shot :)

Thanks for sharing, bumping to the feed :)

Great to see, bumping to the feed - #NavalAviationHistory :) Presumably in the June 2024 edition of Aeroplane?
Oooh, excellent work, and excellent choice of aircraft :) #NavalAviationHistory
Matt debunking myths that have been floating around for longer than they should be in this four-skeet thread :)
#NavalAviationHistory
An excellent thread on the A6M Zero fighter (if someone only knows one Japanese aircraft from WW2, it's inevitably this one) - I very much recommend following the instructions in the first skeet and reading all the way through to the end.
