A reddish wooden bridge with fine sturdy railing crosses a creek with banks red from fallen big leaf maple leaves. A winter old forest surrounds the creek, lush with moss covering deciduous tree branches and there are evergreens, too. Definitely looks like some of those trees aren’t trees but ents.

This old growth, lowland forest near Lake Crescent, WA, is one of my favorite mossy forest haunts out on the Olympic Peninsula in the PNW.
