Catching up on my list
Trying to watch:

Vengeance (2009)
Director: Johnnie To

but boy oh boy is it bad.
I think I've seen this before
Aging French pop star Johnny Hallyday desperately tries to be taken seriously and the story has no stakes
Why should we care?

What If? The Sexy Noir of 'Out of Sight' - Bright Wall/Dark Room Out of Sight is a heist story, a sexy potboiler, a noir rom-com that resurrects and perfects the lost art of cinematic sexual tension.

the Bedroom Window (1987)
Director: Curtis Hanson

This movie has a strong start but there is a real stupid turn toward the end that it cannot recover from.
Neither Guttenberg nor McGovern have the ability to pull off what they're meant to .

real shame

Just finished:
DOA (1988) remake
Directors: Rocky Morton, Anabel Jenkel

It makes sense this movie has 2 directors. It has so much going on, yet the story is very predictable.
It tries hard to be interesting, but the tone and constant genre shifts are too much.

Narc (2002)
Director: Joe Carnahan

I've heard a lot of good about this one. Not sure why I've never sat down for it.

I'm all in for Jason Patric and Ray Liotta

the Late Show (1977)
Director: Robert Benton

this is barely Neo, plays out like a classic noir in color, 70's Hollywood.

A lot of conveniences for the plot to move. 38 year old Lily Tomlin plays a wacky 20 year old.
Overall, it's fine. Not great.

Great performances and one heck of a great scumbag character played by Al Lettieri

Very slow paced until the fantastic climax

the Kid Detective (2020)
Director: Evan Morgan

A well written, clever and charming modern day take off classic private investigator noir.
I was surprised with how good this is.

What a cool movie. Tense in all the right spots with a great hero and a mystery with so many turns.

Highly recommend
