They have a Supportive Care for Dementia (SCD) program that has shown a large impact on patients, caregivers and staff.

A tip from this session that I haven't heard of are shaping molds that can make pureed food look like the food it is supposed to be. Like a pile of peas.

If anyone has experience with this, I would like to hear how it went!

From a psychosocial perspective, recognize that neurologic diseases often come with loss of control, funcitoning independence & predictability. In #neuropalliative clinics recognize that rate of progression can be highly variable.

Recognize the role of the caregiver.

Moving onto seizures -

Don't reflexively scheule benzos at EOL when oral route is threatened. If prognosis i weeks or more alertness matters.

In PD, consider Consider a 3-month supply of non-hospice formulary medications before hospice enrollment.

If needing to wean dopaminergic therapies at EOL, do so slowly when possible to avoid NLMS

Look for OFF symptoms like anxiety, dyspnea, pain and diaphoresis, which may occur when Dopamine therapy is not lasting long enough.

Remember to avoid dopamine recpetor antagonists (Wondering to add it as an allergy med/contraindicated)
