#Neuroception is not something children choose.
It happens automatically, beneath thinking, beneath language.
A child’s neuroception is constantly asking:
Am I safe?
Am I in danger?
Do I need to protect myself?

Nervous system awareness comes from paying attention to our neuroception cues. These are our automatic cues communicating safety or danger.
When we are aware of these cues, we can check them for validity.
The key is to observe, acknowledge, and return to our breath/senses.

Ever floated away during sex? It doesn't mean you're broken.
It's your dorsal vagal (freeze response) activating because your nervous system's subconscious threat detection is trying to signal to you.
Understanding this helps you stay present during sex.
