A postal messenger on a horse, equipped with a postal horn and a Felleisen. This detail is from the Nuremberg-based "Wochentliche Ordinari Post-Zeitung", and it was printed on every title page of the newspaper.

Reporting newsworthy details of the war was a business. And foreign troops fighting in German speaking Europe (the Holy Roman Empire) were a selling news item, as #earlymodern #NewsHistory knows.
Broadsides, single-sheet prints with image and text, were good selling news media. But ...
