Coming from a fishing town, a great many man served during the Great War in the RNR and RNVR on minesweeping and patrol work.

This is apparently among the best accounts on this work.
It’s now at the top of the reading pile.

AI got the blame for the Iran school bombing. The truth is far more worrying LLMs-gone-rogue dominated coverage, but had nothing to do with the targeting. Instead, it was choices made by human beings, over many years, that gave us this atrocity

'AI got the blame for the Iran school bombing. The truth is far more worrying'. Without a doubt, a smart decision by the Guardian to publish this brilliantly-written #HistSTM piece. #HistTech #MilHist #HistWar 🗃️

Sorry for the gate crashing, but spare a few minutes and explain to me, why nobody in the Department of Whisky read this paper from 1983? It's conclusions, IMHO as mere mortal #MilHist and #Wargamer make sense. The current mess was foreseeable. www.jstor.org/stable/pdf/4...

First World War British soldiers stand in front of a row of buildings, the nearest of which is damaged. In front of the building is a newly constructed wooden walkway has been built over a gap in the road. A man pushes a wheelbarrow and others look on. Most are dressed in leather jerkins and steel helmets.

A postcard of British soldiers repairing a road in front of a damaged building in France during the First World War.

Most are wearing the leather jerkins and steel helmets. Possibly a Labour corks unit.

The image dates to the 1916-18 period.

Sooner than you might think... And the Department of Whisky apparently doesn't bother with #MilHist #Wargaming anymore...

Well when your starting position (due to your base) is the civil war wasnt about slavery, yeah #Milhist is coming in second. And this Admin cant plan, even if they wanted to, because their first goal is bootlicking, second is feathering their nests.

Nothing, and that's the point. They don't seem to give a sh*t about #MilHist and or #wargaming certain scenarios before kicking off a major regional war without even a plan. Even Custer had a plan.🤷‍♂️

Seems like the Department of Whisky, with Whisky Pete on the helm, don't give a fiddler's f*ck about #MilHist and publications at all. Ignorant st00pid f00k m00pets!

I'll skip on this one, Ems. I'd rather re-read and repost my #OTD #MilHist stuff I've published in recent years on this and the other, the toXic platform. 😀

The perfect weather for an afternoon talk by Dr Scrivener-Anderson about Black Watch officers 1902-1918. Their make up by nationality and background, as well as the wartime temporary commission selection process. #ww1 #fww #blackwatch #balhousie #milhist
