I am at an age where most of what I read, watch or listen to has a strong whiff of nostalgia. I re-discovered this early-1970s book, “a critical history of pop”, by #NikCohn, during a recent loft clearout. The title is taken from the lyrics of Little Richard’s ‘Tutti Fruitti’.

MLBシーズン中は調べ物が大量に発生する為、じっくり読書が出来ない。で、ここ数年は読書がシーズンオフの楽しみ。ただここ数週間は本業etc.で読書のペースを上げることが出来ていなかった。とはいえ昨日は溜まりに溜まった積読の中から『誰がメンズファッションを作ったのか〜英国男性服飾史』を二週間くらいかけて読了。原書が出版されたのは1971年、日本語訳が出たのは2020年。最後の最後に出てくる、著者が1970年頃に取材で聞いた、マンチェスターのパブで出会った30代前半の男性化学研究者の一言に全力で頷いてしまった🇬🇧 #NikCohn #TodayThereAreNoGentlemen #Mods
