The barista who sees me almost every day when I show up for rehearsal at the theater he works at common grounds Café), was cooing over my big plated gold colored chest piece that dives down deep (cleavage opportunity is almost always a requirement for my shirts n dresses!!), n then asked me about opening night. I told him it was March 5. (I appreciate the ramping up, as we've had a soft launch for newspaper article writers, n a photographer; n tonight was preview night, where in the crowd was the head of the theater organization who sent me the contract to sign. (He said the show was "awesome!" Both of these were higher pressure than any rehearsal we've had, with different rules than rehearsal. (you cannot call for "line," and you cannot stop, you can only improv forward if you forget. I asked him, "Do you have your tickets yet?" n he said something friendly n affirming, while smiling, n making a coffee drink-I don't remember what—n out of nowhere, just feeling friendly as I tore open my raw sugar packets to dump into my Americano, I found myself cutting in with a smirk n saying, "My birthday is the sixth," (I'm pretty sure I was channeling Dixie), n he looked up quick n said "O really?" n l heard myself say, "I expect flowers." He smiled back n laughed. "I'm working on it!" Ha!!! Watch out. Fame is gonna make me toooooo bold.
