An early morning, predawn image of the sky with prominent features annotated. The darkened sky occupies about the upper 3/4 of the entire image. At far upper middle right is a red circle around a group of stars that are called out in the text as "Pleiades". Below that also in the right is another red circle around a single bright object that is labeled "Venus". From just above the middle of the horizon, a gentle yellow glow, and pink colored (clouds beginning to catch dawn light barely), a steak of very light and bright blue clouds extend across the sky at a low diagonal line to the left. These are Noctilucent Clouds. They are rare here, but tend to appear to the North, and more frequently in Summer. A simple line of red text running just above them says "Noctilucent Clouds". Below them, toward the far left is a small bright streak of light pointing to where the sun will rise later. It is circled in red and the text above it reads, "Comet Neowise". The comet was widely visible by naked eye through July of 2020. Above the comet and blue clouds in the upper middle left is a bright, long steak of light that is the reflected light off of The International Space Station over the amount of time the shutter was open for this long exposure photo. The red text above it reads, "International Space Station". The rest of the sky above the horizon is a deep blue, not black because of the time exposure, and the approaching dawn. The very bottom of the image shows very dimly lit gold grassy low rolling hills.
Unfortunately these are just normal clouds underlit by spread out rural lights and made more visible by longer exposure.
This image in this reply is an example of #NoctilucentClouds I was lucky to see and photograph.
This was taken in early July of 2020. They are rare here.

20 June 2025 03:30 AM Central European Summer Time (CEST, which is Universal Time plus 2 hours). An early twilight sky over a treetop at lower right shows a star and an airplane just left of centre and a faint blueish streak below them. This was a noctilucent cloud.
Image taken 24 June 2025 03:38 AM (CEST=UT+2). The image shows an early twilight sky over a house and a tree at lower right. The sky is full of more or less parallel bands, light brownish at bottom, pale white in the centre of the image and blueish towards the top of the image. These bands are noctilucent clouds. There are silvery white by themselves but take the colour of the atmosphere their light is traveling through towards the observer.
Image taken on 29 June 2025 at 00:14 AM (CEST). The image shows a late twilight sky over some trees and houses. The colour of the sky ranges from deep orange-brown at bottom to black at top. A large part of the sky is filled waves, bands and veils of noctilucent clouds.

The #noctilucentclouds (NLC) 2025 season has ended here. NLCs were reported from the Netherlands on 18 nights between 2 June and 29 July 2025 (weather permitting sightings). I missed one night. Sometimes the NLCs were very faint (pic 1), but on a number of occasions they were splendid (pics 2-4).

The images show a bright blueish band over a curved dark earth and under the darkness of space at top. In the upper part of the band a number of thin light streaks, mostly parallel, are visible.
