Elea & Lili has secured $2.9 million in seed #funding to commercialize its cellulose-based alternative to fossil-based superabsorbent #polymers.
Led by CEO Tatu Miettinen, the startup aims to replace #nonbiodegradable materials widely used in diapers and agriculture.
Two years into a nationwide plan to reduce #singleuse and #nonbiodegradable #plasticswaste in #Vietnam,11-12% is #recycled while most is still burned, buried, or dumped into waterways leading to further #river and #ocean #pollution. #SDG11 #SDG12 not yet.
