This large-scale drypoint etching captures the dynamic transformation of the landscape along the High Coast of Sweden, in the Ångermanland province, near the Gulf of Bothnia. The image plays with the intricate relationship between line and tone, where the deliberate use of heavier ink in some areas adds a rich, textured surface-tone, creating a sense of depth and balance. The composition reflects the evolving landscape, where the movement of waves and the sea's past presence are now replaced by a raised seabed, accessible to those who can walk on it. This change is a direct result of the melting icecaps, which have caused the land to rise by 300 meters since the Ice Age. The etching explores this merging of land and water, symbolising the ongoing natural transformation of the environment.
