It also represents, its HISTORY is a time in the past, in which tremendous wealth was accumulated by priviledged Americans who owned planatations of slaves. Slaves: people who worked to survive while their masters reaped all the benefits of their labour. Slaves were beaten, killed, raped, and bred for their owners. US Republicans get uncomfortable when US history is taught in the classrooms.
