Many thanks to the Scientific Committee, & the Local Organising Committee in Geneva. Members are listed at oai.events/oai14/. We will be circulating an Evaluation Form to all attenders, asking for feedback on the #OAI14 sessions & organisation. This will help us plan for #OAI15 in 2 years time!
These are being organised in Australia & Hong Kong over 3 days, Switzerland, Germany, & the UK. In the section 'Views from around the World' at oai.events/oai14/, there are further presentations setting #OAI14 themes in a wider context. These emanate from the UK/Europe, China and Singapore.
#OAI14 has now come to a close. Over 500 individuals signed in to join sessions during the week. All the recordings will be available at oai.events/oai14/ going forwards. 5 watch parties have been organised to study the talks in greater depth - see oai.events/oai14/satell... for details.
Day5 of #OAI14 was devoted to the theme of research integrity. 109 attenders logged in online from a wide range of countries, including Poland, Germany, UK, France, India, The Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, Peru, Italy, Colombia, Belgium and Argentina.

#OAI14 day 4 was a very interesting session on Commercialization and Open Science. How to balance competitiveness, security, valorisation and openness? There are obstacles but where and how do mutual benefits enable collaboration? Discovered some services and initiatives I didn't know yet.

The theme for #Day2 was Open Infrastructures. The talks covered:
- Building an Open Science infrastructure in Africa

The 3-hr session today was scintillating, as Open Science meets AI. The result was a plethora of ideas and initiatives which could enrich the research environment globally. The recording will be available on the #OAI14 website in 24-48 hrs. See oai.events/oai14/ for more details.

#SeanHill #OAI14 #openscience - Many scientists want to share in principle but it's difficult, tools are poor, rules aren't clear, no incentives, cultural/structural barriers are real. Very field specific but still la major issue. Shocking given that data is where the insights come from.
#OpenData research data loss funnel #SeanHill #OAI14 - for every 100 datasets generated, only 1 is shared + FAIR + Cited. Only 1% of research data reaches this gold standard. The investment in generating the data is lost. Delays opportunities/potential/discovery. Why is it lost?
