I don't yet have a picture of her yet, but for #OCKai it was Araea, a half Elf who cared for him and his twin as boys before Tali was lost. Araea was too difficult for either to say being so young, and they called her Ara.
Alas while Ara was able to get Kai to safety, she died from sepsis due 1/2

Buckle up on the angst bittersweet train for this one, but for a very long time #OCKai slept in the tightest ball he could due to his many horrendous experiences from his father to the various captivities he spent time in. It wasn't until Karlach that he started to adopt a less tense state of 1/2

#OCKai had a bastard of an abusive father who blamed him and his twin for the death of their mother (the real reason comes out later, but won't spoil) and it got worse for Kai after Tali's death. In short Arrakus didn't see Kai as anything but a means to an end.

For #OCKai, he met a number of folks who he helped, but some of the lingering ones was Shanathera of the Silverymoon Temple of Selûne (pulled from the FR Wiki not an original NPC of mine), Aebalar one of Kai's mentors (original character made by me) who is a priest of Selûne with a love for stars

#OCKai was surprised at how Gale took his handlings of things in stride and immediately worked on mediating when things got tense with others in the party (won't spoil nothing though), but Gale was frequently supportive of Kai and had few qualms or questions to his actions.

#OCKai is going to feel bad for Karlach because she's used to the pain of her body, but his body is a whole other category of pain even though he doesn't outwardly show it, Kai has a lot of effects from all the struggles and darkness he's been a part of.

For #OCKai, finding love and support. As broken as he is (for reasons I won't spoil ❤️), he doesn't feel worthy, but Karlach reassures him she's by his side no matter what.

If #OCKai ever crossed paths with Mamzell, chances are she'd probably spot the beacon of trauma he is due to the many...atrocities he had tossed at him as a boy by his bastard of a father, but if she ends up spot on it's that she would see Kai wants love and to not expect a boot when things go okay.

#OCKai has pendants of friendship and honor he has collected over his travels ranging from as far east as Impiltur and Cormyr to as far south as Amn and Athkatla and as far north as Waterdeep and Silverymoon. Though he will be modest about things, his name is known throughout many places.

Karlach often reminded #OCKai that it was okay to finally allow himself to be soft, to start healing, and to just exist and do nothing was okay. Kai eventually got there, but he still has some days where it is very difficult for him to be soft. Others did too namely Jaheira, Halsin, and Shadowheart.

In all of my Tavs and Durges, I love that no matter what gets thrown at them, no matter how dark it gets ( #OCKai included) that the day will break eventually even when the dawn is dark and bloody.

#OCKai is pretty much anything with sharp teeth and the reason is in the first chapter of the fic covering his backstory, but tdlr is he was attacked by a lion as a boy. So yeah sharp teeth, animals, big problem for Kai.

#OCKai loves when Karlach tugs him into her lap and wraps him fully up into her arms, especially when her tail drapes around him as well, it makes him feel safe and loved even when his mind gets stormy.

#OCKai doesn't fair well in cold anymore due to the amount of trauma he's had inflicted on him physically over many years, Karlach helps keep him warm so the pain isn't as bad.

At first #OCKai believed that there was good and hope in much of the world, even if it was broken and scarred, but alas unfortunately over time even Kai ends up losing hope and becoming stone. Least until he meets Karlach who despite all the shitty circumstances still stops to admire flowers....

Almost all of my characters are hairless due to being Elven or Tiefling. The exceptions are #OCDeklan the lone human (so far) who has a trail from navel to below, but just that, he's hairless on the chest and has a smattering on his arms. #OCKai used to but torment scarred those parts.

Depending on which he finds, #OCKai journals have herbal recipes, food recipes, notes about locations he's found said herbs in, and other things relating to being a cleric.

#OCKai is for many reasons afraid of the dark due to the many incidences of suffering, trauma, and pain that occurred. The party at one point decided to take the Underdark as it was fastest, but it erm didn't go well (though I won't spoil what happened or why)

Karlach calls #OCKai "fire bear" eventually cause despite all the crap he's been through, he remains soft in the heart like a teddy bear and his fire has remained strong.

#OCKai only begrudgingly helps with Wyll's idiot dad finding because he has people he cares about in Baldur's Gate. Past that he really doesn't care for Wyll's dad considering the man walked out into actively hostile wilds with a couple of rookies and Fist.

#OCKai doesn't realize it because he hasn't looked in a mirror for ages for a reason (not gonna spoiler either) but Karlach thinks that his face is his most striking feature. Even under the scars, Kai has a strong rugged jaw and features that although soft bely a quiet strength that has endured 1/2

For #OCKai it was the shadow cursed lands that was the hardest struggle for him as my headcanon is the shadow curse causes your worst memories to rise up and with Kai's backstory....yeah....
