VP of Equity Sharon Giroux spoke alongside CTF Vice-President and member Tesa Fiddler to defend designated affinity spaces for First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples within the OFL.

Gender-affirming care saves lives!
On Trans Day of Awareness, member Alex McDonald was backed by #CatholicTeachers, urging #OFL2025 to defend access to gender-affirming care, enshrining it as a right in policy, and push back against government restrictions harming trans youth.
#CatholicTeachers at #OFL2025 heard member Jason Haraschuk speak powerfully about the impact on teachers when mental health and invisible disabilities are ignored.
His message was clear: solidarity across #OnLab matters — and this issue can only be solved together!
Injured, ill, and killed.
#OFL2025 hosted a workers' health and safety forum, w/speakers from the childcare sector, labour lawyers, and family who've had loved ones killed on the job. Everyone deserves to have a safe workplace and have access to the supports they need to heal.
Both inside and outside of the convention hall, #CatholicTeachers had a successful 3rd day at #OFL2025. More action towards better working conditions for #OnLab continues tomorrow!
#CatholicTeachers took to the #OFL2025 mic to proudly announce a $5,000 contribution to the OFL Strike Appeals Fund, a financial initiative that supports #OnLab bargaining units involved in a strike or lock-out.

Day 3 of #OFL2025 is off to an amazing start, with OECTA Councillor Melissa Garrett speaking in support of a resolution declaring gender-based violence and intimate partner violence an epidemic. #CatholicTeachers #OnLab
#CatholicTeachers were happy to have #OntEd critic Chandra Pasma join last night's OECTA #OFL2025 social. Advocating for Ontario students and publicly funded education is critical, and we are glad to see the Ontario NDP championing that fight at Queen's Park.
Councillor Erin van Moorsel backed a motion uniting educators, #OnLab, families, and community allies for coordinated days of action. #OntEd is under attack, and province-wide organizing is key to achieving change!
