Sadly the wheat glue didn't hold up to the tension created by carrot grain structure. I had to use pins to reinforce the shield and therefore it isn't entirely edible. If some poor sap took this down into a pit he would die an ignominious death.

Look, I'm not saying you *should* do this, but you can make glue out of flour and water and use it to laminate carrot sticks into a fully edible board.

I stopped coming up with jokes that made me laugh while I did chores around the house, so #osrfood is on hiatus. I was trying to come up with something about a mandolin, but they're really not that funny.

An oil in water emulsion is a suspension of oil droplets in liquid creating volume. In order to allow this mixture to happen an emulsifier is required.
In the vinaigrette of the OSR the oil is the players, the vinegar is the scenario, and the rules are the mustard that sticks them together.

Since time immemorial (1977) people have been confused by the rules for 2 handed weapons. Why do they attack slowly? They aren't slow to swing! Usually people house rule that they attack in normal initiative order and be done with it, but weapons some of the most modified rules in the OSR.

Ultimately mayonnaise and the OSR are best when you make them yourself.
In jar: 1 tsp Dijon, a couple grinds pepper, hefty pinch of salt, 1 clove minced garlic, 1tbsp lemon juice, 1 egg, 1tbsp peanut or other neutral oil.
Blend with stick blender.
Slowly add 1c oil while blending

You character really ought to have a ranged weapon, because there's no guarantee your enemies will be in melee range. Plus it gives you the ability to attack from a position of advantage. Combat as war is an important concept of #osrfood.
