Send emails and texts or use video/text relay rather than phone calls. Offer to send an email with a summary of what was discussed so that the deaf patient can be confident that they understood everything #OTalk

Find out the patient preferred communication method before you meet them #OTalk

Start by looking at your environment and how much information is provided verbally from the moment your deaf patient walk through your door. Think about reception, waiting room, noise level, quiet room for consultations, etc. #OTalk
