Back to Bruce: I BELIEVE in fanfic. I was entertained by BIRTH OF THE DRAGON, a preposterous and problematic fantasy that nevertheless managed to weave a new and fascinating para-reality around Bruce Lee, while according him agency and humanity that #OUATIH withholds from him.

You can interpret the inclusion of Bruce Lee in #OUATIH many ways, more or less generously to Tarantino. But don’t do it without noting the pattern in how he uses racism, anti-Semitism & misogyny/rape as a means to amplify pathos and make his own fictional heroes/stories iconic.
