Could someone ( maybe Matt as I don't know which other #observatree staff are on Bluesky) suggest we include the link to the podcast on healthy forests to the next newsletter? Thanks #Branchingout
Anyone #ForestResearch or other research organisations able to confirm? #Observatree would like be to know also...๐งช

Interesting find from one of our #Observatree volunteers in the #Cairngorms ๐ฆ
We're waiting on confirmation but suspect these are Greater black spruce bark aphids (Cinara picaea), a species that has only been recorded in Scotland near Edinburgh and Orkney. And quite the crowd of them too! ๐ฎ

Please help us record ash dieback-tolerant trees in Scotland! It's estimated up to 75% of our ash trees will be gone in 20 years โน๏ธ. Thankfully some show a natural tolerance to the disease. We need #Volunteers to find & record these valuable trees from July.๐
