On November second, nineteen twenty black citizens in Ocoee, Florida, attempted to exercise their right to vote in the presidential election. A black man named Mose Norman tried to cast his ballot, but was turned away when he returned With reinforcement. It's white mobs erupted in violence, attacking the black community. Homes, businesses and churches were burned and many black residents were killed or forced to flee.
