Another question of whether an #omnipolicy framework was utilized--how to balance environmental concerns with the U.S. security interest in ensuring Europe has a reliable, non-Russian source of natural gas for powering its economy and not reopening coal plants? 1/
#Omnipolicy, a concept I've "borrowed" from @nahaltoosi.bsky.social , does not silo "foreign" and "domestic" policy into separate lanes, but understands the need for cross-coordination. #JenniferHarris work on economic statecraft also demonstrates need for this coordination.
We need to align all parts to work together: getting guaranteed #energy_abundance, fixing government procurement, incentivizing capital, and developing the necessary technological partnerships. Michael Kratsios has to be able to approach as #omnipolicy issue.

As always appreciate the precursor work done by @nahaltoosi and @SophEisentraut on the #omnipolicy and #polypandemic ways of thinking.

Will be fascinating to see JDVance impact on shaping a foreign policy to address #doorstep concerns as well as whether he embraces an #omnipolicy approach. My guess is we’ll see more of an offshore balancing approach. 2/
I see this within the narrative frame of #climategeopolitics -- but also via #omnipolicy. If "energy" becomes an organizing principle--we need enough of it in quantity at affordable prices without creating vulnerable dependencies -- how does U.S. national security policy ... 2/
Great aphorism: "Diplomacy is politics in a double-breasted suit." But also the @nahaltoosi.bsky.social #omnipolicy imperative: aligning foreign policy with domestic interests to create sustainable approaches. 6/
Alex Thompson & Stef Kight shed light on why NSC-DPC coordination on @nahaltoosi #omnipolicy and connecting foreign policy to domestic interests didn’t get off the ground. www.axios.com/2024/02/12/h...
And importance of @politico.com's @nahaltoosi.bsky.social on #omnipolicy: "Another critical part of such a new strategy is to remove the dividing line between domestic and international priorities." 4/
And jokes aside, will be interesting if new French PM Gabriel Attal tends to think about foreign policy in these sustainability, #omnipolicy terms ... carnegiecouncil.org/media/articl...
How might rising generations think about foreign policy differently? Some Carnegie Council thoughts ... sustainability in place of security, discarding old categories (like isolationist/internationalist), rise of @nahaltoosi.bsky.social's #omnipolicy ... www.carnegiecouncil.org/media/articl...
