#OneDollarDVD from Francis Ford Coppola and S.E. Hinton, starring basically every up and coming actor of the day. The original theatrical cut, from 1983.
As a lifelong fan of #StevenSpielberg, finding this Academy Screener #OneDollarDVD was a real treat. A wonderful film. #TheFabelmans
Today's #OneDollarDVD: The David Fincher classic and set the standard for bonus features at the time!
Not a legit #OneDollarDVD but instead eleven DVDs for four dollars. I've actually owned most of these in the past. Some classics, some nice-tries and some junk. The one on the far right is BILLY JACK, which I've never seen. Scorsese, McTiernan, De Palma, Scott, Joanou. Not a bad deal. Discuss!
#OneDollarDVD: Albert Brooks' DEFENDING YOUR LIFE (1991). I was working in a theater when this was first released; it was a revelation. A smart, thoughtful, funny look at life & afterlife. A career best for Brooks. Streep & Rip Torn are excellent, too. My friends and I still quote it. Discuss!
Another #OneDollarDVD: GHOSTBUSTERS (1984). Still one of my favorite films of all time, a life changing one. As a kid I would bring a notebook with me and practice drawing proton packs. I have written a fan sequel. I was an extra in the 2016 reboot and met my hero Ivan Reitman. Discuss this classic!
Today's #OneDollarDVD is MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL (1975): Perhaps the first comedy I ever loved and studied and look at those bonus features! We had Python on broadcast PBS back in the day, before home media. I've been a big fan of the gang, especially Terry Gilliam, ever since. Discuss!
