Kejimkujik National Park and National Historical Site on Facebook It's pickerel all the way down 🌀 Check out this fishy find at Kejimkujik. One of our staff recently talked with a visitor who caught a Chain Pickerel -- when they cut it open, they found another smaller pickerel. Inside that second pickerel was a THIRD pickerel! 🐟 Chain Pickerel are a highly invasive species. It is mandatory to retain and euthanize pickerel caught in Kejimkujik's waters. Retained pickerel go to Acadia University where their gut contents are studied. 🐟 Chain Pickerel are voracious predators and will eat anything and everything. The main fish species found in their stomachs is yellow perch, but they will often eat other pickerel. It's a fish-eat-fish-eat-fish world out there.

Small green frog (approx 2" so likely a female) sitting on a large grape leaf

I found a little friend on my wild grapes ❤️

I believe this is Hyla versicolor or the Grey tree frog, which has the ability to change its coloration like a chameleon

They are native and love to hang on my front door windows at night if I've left the outside lights on

Left is 3 year old Truffle and right is 4 year old Poppy both of them are focused on an upside down Toad who has already been in Cherry (not pictured) and Truffles mouth and is wisely closing to play dead in hopes they go away I gathered them up and took them into the house My dogs wear GPS locators on their collars

Trying to rewild my property and having Jack Russells is a tough mix 😅

Toad is fine! After I russled them all in, I went to go collect and move it into the garden and it was already happily hoping away

Good thing they taste bad!

These are golden hedge which I haven't grown before but I'm hoping they provide a little privacy in the front yard

Squirrels tracks across the front yard in fresh snow, but the next image is the funny one

Squirrel tracks in the snow. Where it clearly fell into some deeper snow caused by my lovely neighbours plowing a walkway for me. Then tracks continuing on. This makes me wish I had one of those doorbell cameras, I'm sure it was funny

Our resident and VERY brave squirrel had been out and about in the font yard now the storm is dying down

Also clearly, it's just not that smart...
