#OtherHit1derful Kajagoogoo had a single hit in Canada, "Too Shy." I think "Ooh to Be Ah" was just as catchy: I had the import single. Admittedly, it wasn't a terribly deep song. Works for #PurePop1980s, too.

Day 28: Jimmy Eat World - "Sweetness" (2001).

These Mesa, AZ natives had a Top 5 smash with "The Middle," but this was the follow-up that stalled at #75 on the Hot 100.

Day 27: Oasis - "Don't Look Back in Anger" (1995)

This got to #55 in America, with their previous single becoming their biggest smash overseas. At 11, I thought they had more U.S. pop hits than the chart reflects.

Formerly of Brinsley Schwarz, Ian Gomm didn’t really hit in Canada with "Hold On"; it didn’t crack the top 40 as far as I know, but it was top 20 in the US. So, close enough for another Stiff artist and #OtherHit1derful: “Sad Affair"

"You Gotta Be" was a #5 hit in America in '94, but she never broke as big again, not even with the ROMEO + JULIET buzz that made The Cardigans famous.

Day 25: Chris Isaak - "Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing" (1995).

"Wicked Game" broke in 1990 aided by David Lynch and Herb Ritts. But Stanley Kubrick and another scorching Ritts video couldn't make a retroactive hit out of this later single.

#OtherHit1derful B B Gabor's "Nyet Nyet Soviet (Soviet Jewellery)" was about as close as he came to a hit. Even better was "Girls of the Future" from his second lp, a rather chilling song.
