A large brick house takes up most of a corner lot. The owners have decorated the outer perimeter with old carousel animals, including horses, a rabbit and a giraffe, all on their poles. The sidewalk outside the house is quite wide, probably built to spec, with three carousel horses on each of the two street sides embedded in the edging with fancy brickwork framing. I had to stand across the street to get most of the display. The sky above is blue with fluffy clouds.
The sidewalk edge has three carousel horses embedded in concrete circles. Each circle is framed with bricks, and there is a brick connection between the framed horses. The whole tableau is surrounded by red lava rock, and has a nice brick edging. This takes up most of the corner sidewalk in front of the lot. There is another similar tableau on the other side.
This mermaid horse (merhorse? sea horse?) is my favorite. The horse is sea green, with white oyster shells decorating its saddle. Instead of back legs it has an elegant mermaid tail. Its carousel post is gold colored. It is set behind an evergreen shrub.

A small tree growing in the middle of a small traffic circle at an intersection has Christmas baubles hanging in its lower branched. The balls are red, green, white, some plain, some with fancy scrollwork. You can see the big cedar growing on the corner forming a dark backdrop making the colors pop. At the bottom you can see the round concrete rim of the circle, with maple leaves carved in.

A couple of white garden chairs sit at the bottom of a small dip in a garden. There are stone steps leading to the garden nook. Red and gold trees border the spit, which is carpeted with various ferns, small bushes, grasses and low growing ground cover. Tall street trees soar above the garden into a blue sky with wispy white clouds.

A couple of weeping blue Atlas cedars are trained into a bower for a tricorner bench on a street in our neighborhood. The dappled shade provides cool relief to a passerby, while the whimsical toy birds and baubles peeking through the branches overhead bring out a smile. The weeping cedars are popular in Seattle, and the twisting contorted branches, with their rough red bark and twigs covered with powder blue needles, are often shaped into garden arches and interesting structures.
