As @opulenceihazit.bsky.social noted, #PAPPG is a lengthy & near impenetrable “guide” to #PublicAssistance. Jurisdictions must either hire “experts” to help them navigate it, or train staff every year to do so. Cutting grants & funding for such training makes the latter even more difficult.

Nsf added text to the following paragraph, specifically the sentence starting with whether and ending with tools. RESEARCH MISCONDUCT means fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism, whether committed by an individual directly or through the use or assistance of other persons, entities, or tools, including artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools, in proposing or performing research funded by NSF, reviewing research proposals submitted to NSF, or in reporting research results funded by NSF.

PA applications are very complicated, require deep expertise and extended timeframes due to numerous layers of review and approvals. Not to mention a lack of seasoned staff approving them contributes to rejections. Why does PA have to be so complicated?
