PJM Announces Maximum Generation and Load Management Alerts Ahead of Expected High Demand on July 28th
PJM has issued two alerts to prepare its extensive service area across 13 states and the District of Columbia for high electricity demand on July 28th. The Maximum Generation Alert informs neighboring power grids that potential limitations in electricity exports from PJM may occur, while a Load Management Alert signals that load management actions, including Demand Response programs, could be implemented to reduce peak usage. These proactive measures aim to maintain a reliable electricity supply without requiring direct action from customers, amid forecasts predicting a peak demand of around 157,000 MW on the day.
