Twenty people smile for a selfie in front of a blank wall.
This year's #POD25 POD Network conference was just what I needed, right when I needed it most.
I'm glad POD noticed who couldn't be there, too. May we find more & better ways to bring everyone's voices together.
Here are my photos; have fun remembering, y'all!

Well, thanks a lot @drtink.bsky.social and @writandrhet.bsky.social. Your amazing #POD25 session, "Building Support for Negotiated Grading," has inspired me to completely rework my spring syllabus. Will be thinking of you both as I tear down & rebuild my Blackboard site!

Thanks #POD25 for all the great teaching and learning conversations, and reaffirmation of the beauty and importance of all we do.

Here's my final POD Network Conference outfit post: the blues (which feels fitting since today is the last day of the conference). ☹️ #POD25
Tolu and Isis smiling at the camera. They are both wearing shades of pink. Tolu is also wearing a matching pink KN95 mask.
It's been so great meeting people in 3D that I've only ever seen on LinkedIn, Bluesky, or Zoom (like the wonderful Isis Artze-Vega)! #POD25
Tolu posing in front of a mirror. She is wearing a light brown collared sweater with three buttons, black pants, and black booties with brown trim. She is also wearing a black KN95 mask that has a gold chain on it.
Today in POD Network Conference fashion: brown, black, & bling. #POD25

Today is a two-outfit day! The left is what I wore for the POD Network Conference sessions during the day, and the right is what I'm wearing to watch (and only watch) the karaoke party tonight! #POD25
Photograph of Carl Moore with a slide of his talk. The slide includes icons to illustrate "intellect + intuition," "evidence + empathy" and "rigor + relationship."
POD president Carl Moore is talking about the theme of Writing our Future, and reminding us of our humanity. Loving this emphasis on balancing intellect and intuition, evidence and empathy, and rigor and relationship. #pod25
6 educational developers with varying heights, skin tones, ages, genders, and clothing choices pose as action figures.
This group of facilitators for the #POD25 "Getting Started: Workshop for New Educational Developers" pre-conference workshop--they are amazing! (Shown here in action figure poses).
Never more proud to be a member of the POD Network.

@edufuturist.bsky.social
I don't know if it was @edufuturist.bsky.social or the sound crew, but ending his #POD25 keynote with Metallica's "Trapped under Ice" as the house music is a genius move that I am sure only 5 people in the audience recognized.
*chef's kiss!*

A stack of handouts, Lemonhead candies, lemonade mix, and lemon stickers on a table.
A paper tree that is covered in lemon-shaped sticky notes.
A 2x2 lemonade matrix. The x-axis ranges from low effort to high effort, and the y-axis ranges from low impact to high impact.
A handout entitled Questions for Selecting Which Ideas/Programs to Pursue. The questions are: 1) Do you have the resources (space, financial, staft)? 2) Does this align with institutional mission or priorities? 3) Does this address a need on campus or nationally? 4) Does this address efforts of equity or accessibility? 5) Is this scalable or build towards center priorities? 6) Does this develop your own professional skills/knowledge? 7) Are your educators interested in this? 8) Does this make you or others smile (or pucker!)?
Lindsey Hamilton and Wells Castonguay went all out with their workshop theme of turning "lemons" (like limited resources, time, and programs that just aren't working) into lemonade! #POD25
Tolu posing in front of a mirror. She is wearing a black sweater dress, a multicolor scarf (with khaki, olive green, gray, navy blue, and black print), black tights, and black booties. She is also wearing a khaki KN95 mask that matches the scarf.
Today's POD Network Conference outfit called for all the cozy things: a sweater dress and a scarf. #POD25
Jessamyn with a pile of her book, Snafu Edu. The cover is blue with a pink inside out umbrella.
Hey, it's #SnafuEdu at #POD25! Thank you @oupress.bsky.social & @aberzanskis.bsky.social.
The audience of educational developers at #POD25 cheered at @edufuturist.bsky.social ‘s comment that the only known solution to “the cheating problem” with AI is to “rethink assessment top to bottom.” Apparently, that’s not the usual response. 😂
Well, that explains a lot. Except I’d delete “sometimes.”
@edufuturist.bsky.social speaking at #POD25.

Things are getting weirder.
And, sometimes, harder.
Excited for @edufuturist.bsky.social's keynote at the POD Network conference. "Writing the Future," what a great topic. #pod25
A blue book cover with a pink umbrella blowing away. "Snafu Edu: Teaching and learning when things go wrong in the college classroom"
A brilliantly-colored book cove. "Empowered: A Woman Faculty of Color's Guide to Teaching and Thriving"
One reason I love staffing the @oupress.bsky.social booth at exhibits:
You can witness a passerby 30 feet away stop, pivot, point, and say, "I LOVED THAT BOOK."
Proud to be showing off the "Teaching, Engaging, and Thriving in Higher Ed" series at #POD25!
#POD25 attendees: I am not at POD but word on the street is that my book IS with advance copies available at the JHU Press table.

This morning's pre-conference workshop was my 1st time facilitating a session at an on-site conference since the pandemic began. I poured the last 5 years of pent up ideas & energy into the session & seeing the impact it had on attendees literally brought me to tears. Thanks to all who came.💛 #POD25
#POD25 is mostly indoor conference meeting rooms but got a bit of San Diego sun today with fac dev friends @lindsaymasland.bsky.social & @drtnt3.bsky.social. 🌞

What a splendid way to begin my #POD25 conference! It was an honor to give a peer-observation workshop with Lauren Barbeau, Claudia Cornejo Happel, and Marguerite Regan.
