We are super excited that our #PWA50 film has been shortlisted in the Firenze Archeofilm festival and is being screened this afternoon in Florence! Director Michael Pitts is there representing the team and everyone back here in the UK is keeping everything crossed we do well 🤞

Tonight we joined both rainbows and brownies sessions at the 15th Long Eaton Sea Scouts & Guides to talk all about protected wrecks and maritime archaeology! The girls did a virtual dive on the Colossus with Jezz…
To help celebrate #PWA50 we’ve updated our protected wreck trump cards with four new sites!
In just over an hour our #PWA50 film will be premiered online!

We have hosted 3 #PWA50 internships thanks to funding from @HistoricEngland. The internships offer experience in the heritage sector whilst being paid! Our final intern, Henry Carter, has enjoyed getting stuck into events.

We are continuing our lucky weather streak this week with a visit to the Salcombe Cannon protected wreck thanks to funding from @historicengland
The team are getting the site ready for the volunteers who are joining us and SWMAG there later this month!

We have had a wonderful time today talking to Peter Marsden about the origins of the Protection of Wrecks Act and all his work to help protect sites like the Amsterdam. The interview will form part of our @historicengland funded #PWA50 film which will be out later this year.
We’ve reached half way in our #PWA50 events with a pop up at a village fete this weekend!
We’ve delivered 25 events (16 schools, 4 youth groups & 5 public events) to nearly 3,000 people!

What a brilliant day talking to the public today at our #PWA50 pop up in Southwell @coopuk car park! It’s the site of the old rope walk so the rope we had on display from the Invincible protected wreck was a great talking point!
