The bottom of a small Arbes tree as a trunk of a boat 3 inch diameter.
A view of the full height of the tree shows that it is at least seven or 8 feet tall. It is starting to impinge on the corner of the neighbours house.

A tall lanky arbutus tree bends toward the corner of a house. It has a few other random branches. It is probably 9ft tall now. There is a large aluminum canoe on the ground behind it and a brown shed in the back of the yard. It is growing on the property line.
The sickly transplanted arbutus tree is no longer sickly and may be on the verge of Menace status. 😂 Thankfully, we have supportive neighbours. That is their house it is reaching toward, not ours. 😂

Labyrinthian patterns from crystallized syrup at the bottom of a stainless steel pot. Some concentric circles present.
I made some magic today that is blowing my mind. ✨🤯✨
I reworked some #PacificMadrone bark syrup, and what was left at the bottom of the pot while cooling in the sink seems to have crystallized into a beautiful labyrinthian pattern with some concentric circles mixed in.

How it started…
we found 4 little arbutus seedlings in a forest back in December 2020. We dug them up and brought them home, planting them in various places around the yard. This is the only one to survive! #home #gardening #arbutus #PacificMadrone #trees
