Despite how hard it is to get #paidGM players these days. I'm popping #noai in my ads. It's weird to me how normalised it's become to present character art generated by an AI. And I don't want people thinking
1) that I do that
2) that I use AI for any part of my creative work

One player bluffs about a spell they cast in the past. She doesn't roll Sense Motive... Her eyes flick side to side like she's reading, and she rolls knowledge, before asking another interrogatory question.
The 'game' of the conversation isn't a convincing lie, it's convincing education.

a work group skipped this week so I'm looking to fill the slot for income. Thought I'd run a horror one-shot I've done a couple times and it's gone over brilliantly each time!

Statistically the value approaches 1 for me.
#paidGM, I run primarily d20 based systems, which have a single d20 for most checks and variety dice for damage if necessary.
D20family high dice# spells + the few dicepool systems(and Brachyr) I run, don't really skew the facta d20 dominates my job
Unpopular note but; there are plenty of #paidGM s willing to take on pre-existing groups.
It's happened twice for me that a forever gm has approached about getting a break for a bit

Apparently I don't run #ttrpg 's the same way others do.
Is it not normal to read the entire published adventure, register it as a modelled reality inmind, make the maps/tokens/etc on the vtt,
and then just run the players in the semi-fluid sandbox reality with 'story' as current?

The masking techniques I developed from TTRPGs are probably the biggest. I have also apparently developed leadership skills if the number of times I get pushed into leadership roles(in and out of game) is any indication.
I am also a #paidGM so apparently I learnt enough for work.

Sorry to intercut your thread here but this is exactly my current #1 fear despite living outside the usa. I'm a #PaidGM and it's my only source of income. I haven't been able to find other forms of consistent employment and the notion of just, not being affordable is terrifying
