In my minds eye, I pictured a majestic galloping horse, mane and tail aflame. Extremely ambitious given I've never drawn a horse before. Instead, I painted a sad, timid little horse with what looks like unfortunate explosive flatulence. Very fortuitous? Happy New Year? #paintingfail #oops

Water lilies painting with gold tones… my original painting

Attempt to replicate gold tones water lilies painting. Not there yet.

1st: original I painted by accident and then later ruined.

2nd: likely attempt number 4 to try to redo what I ruined. Still too wet to tell.

It’s not there yet, I didn’t have enough brown and blended way too much… also used too much paint. I will replicate it one day. I hope!

Okay, so apparently there really IS a reason why underpaintings are in lighter colors.
A few months back I prepped some canvases in dark reddish brown and now I'm reaping what I've sown.
