A 47 million year old stag beetle from Messel, Germany
Although #PalAss24 was a whirlwind, the highlight for me was going to Grube Messel, an iconic 47 million year old German Lagerstätte.
Of all the hundreds of stunning fossils we saw, this stag beetle took my breath away. With preserved colour as well! Stunning. 🪲❤️

I had an absolutely brilliant time at PalAss.
There weren't enough minutes in the day and I would have loved to be in multiple places at once to see all the talks.
