Question for #palaeontologists involved or not in the Netflix series #Dinosaurs: do you think Magyarsaurus the little sauropods could have been able to gallop? Gallop ability is limited by weight stress put on the limbs, but if they are so small I wonder if they could have a gait with suspension

Leonard Johnston Wills (1884–1979) was critical in the early study of Paleozoic #fossil fish. Modern #palaeontologists at the University of Birmingham have now learned even more about these unusual animals. Visit our new Temporary Exhibition to understand a world of Feeding Without Jaws!

🌍 Excited to share my scientific visit to the Royal #Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences 🏛️!
🦴 I worked with local #palaeontologists to scan two rare #Devonian fish fossils 🐟 using tomographic analyses, revealing incredible “hidden under the rock” body fragments.

For the Chalamet-curious #palaeontologists... I'm kind of amazed I never spotted this before... 👀

Why are so many Allosaurus found at the CLDQ? - Was Allosaurus really that abundant? Or is there some sort of sampling bias? Are we seeing the remains of Allosaurus ‘packs’?
It’s plenty of food for thought for #palaeontologists researching the palaeofauna of the #MorrisonFormation.

🧵 End.

Historical fossil collections are fascinating,I'll be researching additional provenance in 2025 on this one. As those labeled N B Co pit (Northam Brickworks) are of particular interest. As Alfred Leeds one of history's greatest #palaeontologists discovered many #fossils from this pit #fossilfriday

I have long been familiar with the story of the Ramayana but learned something new when looking at the Ramakie Paintings on the walls of Bangkok’s Royal Palace. I really don’t remember a #theropod being in the story! Anyone know the species?
