I photographed the Prince’s Palace of Monaco (Palais Princier de Monaco) on a sunny early afternoon in June. The scene shows the palace entrance, the historic cannons, and visitors walking across the plaza patterned with light and shadow. Built in 1215 as a Genoese military fortification, the palace later became the residence of the Sovereign Prince of Monaco — a place where medieval architecture meets royal history.

The view in Monaco from the Prince’s Palace, also known as Palais des Princes. This magnificent view is from Vue panoramique sur Fontvieille next to Rle Sainte-Barbe.
